Batman blinked beneath the cowl, rigidly torn between utter confusion and a spark of amusement. "What happened?" His voice was a growl, but the corners of his mouth tilted upwards. Slightly. Barely. Hardly even noticeable. Just a bit.
"Um, well..." Dick glanced at the other young man next to him, raising an eyebrow. "I ran into some trouble with a few gang bangers."
Jason snorted. "Yeah, a few? Dickiebird got the shit beat out of him. And then..." He had a look of smug triumph on his face as he smirked. "His mask got torn off."
Ignoring Batman's scowl, Dick continued. "This jerk thought it was funny, since I'm always so careful. He helped me finish the job but wouldn't stop laughing."
"Yeah, so he tears off my mask, and broke it. Smashed my helmet right in two."
"He overreacted and jumped me."
"He was a whimp and got creamed way too easily."
"I kicked him where it counts, but then he grabbed my ankle."
"Which I took delight in twisting."
"Which is why I'm leaning on him now. Though Jay here enjoys the closeness."
"I do not!"
"Shut it, a**..."
Batman blinked again, and suppressed a groan, torn between moaning and laughing at the same time.
